Cartaya has always been motivated by the surroundings, developing a peculiar curiosity for objects, drawing, inventing, assembling, and product development. Designing is a way to express himself, he is always creating something, drawing in his mind. He is goal-oriented and optimistic about his profession, constantly looking for something to do. Cartaya tends to give so much of himself that he loses track of time and gets to a point where he does not sleep until he finishes what he has in mind. His strong spirit to accomplish his personal and professional goals accompanies him at all times.

During his career, he concentrated on his passion, furniture design where he developed the exotic chair collection. More than a project that he envisioned, this chair collection soon became a reality available for viewers to enjoy.

He also has been able to cover the entire design process, working on newer concepts, building prototypes, and making them a reality.

Design has made a difference in his life as a person. All these challenges have proved to him that he could do it all over again if he had to and give the best of him every time.
